Dr. Bashari Ahmed Maizare is a seasoned Nigerian sports administrator, academic, legal practitioner, and public servant with over four decades of experience in grassroots development, sports management, and public education. Born on 30th June 1964 in Kano State, Dr. Maizare has contributed significantly to the advancement of youth and sports in Nigeria, serving in various key roles including Director of Sports at the Kano State Sports Commission, Secretary of Kano Pillars Football Club, and Chairman of the Directors of Sports Forum of Nigeria (2021–2022).
He holds a Ph.D. in Sports Management, LL.B in Law, MSc in Sports Management, and several professional diplomas and certifications in public administration, mass communication, coaching, and officiating. His academic journey spans institutions such as Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Bayero University, Kano, and the National Open University of Nigeria.
Dr. Maizare is a Fellow of the Nigeria Institute for Sports and a member of multiple professional bodies, including the Nigeria Institute of Management and the Institute of Corporate Administration. He has officiated, coached, and managed sports teams at national levels, leading Kano State to podium finishes at the National Sports Festivals and winning league titles with Kano Pillars FC.
